M800 RubrStar
Reflective SEBS Asphalt

USES: M800 RubrStar protects surfaces exposed to the sun's destructive ultraviolet rays. RubrStar increases the life expectancy of exterior surfaces, as well as reduces energy costs by lowering inside temperatures. RubrStar is an excellent waterproofing asphalt that can be used as a protective coating and as an adhesive to install waterproofing sheets. RubrStar has a Class A Fire Rating over APP and SBS modified bitumen as well as most other roofing products. RubrStar adheres to most surfaces such as roofing, wood, metal, rubber, plastic, glass, and concrete. RubrStar forms a flexible, reflective shield that protects and beautifies.

DIRECTIONS: New asphalt surfaces should be allowed to set up a minimum of 90 days prior to applying M800 RubrStar. RubrStar is friendly to apply in warm, dry conditions. RubrStar sets up in approximately 1 to 4 hours, depending on weather conditions. Do not apply RubrStar if rain or excessive humidity is imminent either during or immediately following application, or if the outside temperature is below 50° F (10° C). Clean gravel, dirt, vegetation, and debris from the application area. Seal any leaking penetrations and repair all surface fissures with M300 RubrMastic. Prime the surface to be coated along with any uncoated masonry and new metal with M700 RubrGard. Use a medium stiff bristle brush or asphalt emulsion spray equipment to apply both RubrGard and RubrStar directly from their containers, without diluting. Apply a reflective and waterproof coating with RubrStar, thoroughly stir the RubrStar just prior to application. Then, apply RubrStar at the rate of 3 gallons per 100 square feet. Install a waterproofing fabric with RubrStar, select either PolyWeb or GlasWeb. Then, generously brush 3 gallons per 100 square feet of RubrStar in a complete 3 foot wide strip as an adhesive beneath the first roll of sheets. Set the sheet into the RubrStar, making sure it unrolls straight and without any wrinkles. Carefully press the sheet into the RubrStar by lightly brushing the surface until complete adhesion and penetration is achieved. Do not step on the sheet until the RubrStar has set up. Continue installing each successive roll of sheets by overlapping the prior sheet 2" on the seams. For each additional layer of sheets, repeat the above process using 2 gallons per 100 square feet of RubrStar in a complete interply application. Center the rolls of each additional layer of sheets over the seams of the prior layer. Apply a final surface coating of RubrStar at the rate of 3 gallons per 100 square feet.

DESCRIPTION: M800 RubrStar is a reflective SEBS asphalt. RubrStar is one of the most versatile roofing and waterproofing products ever developed. RubrStar has been engineered to provide a Class A Fire Rating over most roofing membranes including APP, SBS, SEBS, and built-up roofing systems. Select raw materials have been formulated into a reflective asphalt emulsion that challenges the laws of physics by actually turning a black asphalt into a white asphalt. RubrStar is a patented breakthrough achieved by Fields in SEBS chemistry. The SEBS rubber in RubrStar provides maximum elastic performance against thermal shock, the daily expansion and contraction of a roof caused by temperature changes. SEBS rubber polymers are the only ones known to effectively resist the sun's destructive UV rays that attack the roof membrane making it brittle and weak, inducing membrane ruptures during thermal shock cycles. RubrStar is your best defense against these attacks. With RubrStar, your roofing and waterproofing installations will perform much longer. RubrStar is asbestos free and has an Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Class A Fire Rating.

SPECIFICATIONS: M800 RubrStar exceeds the minimum standards of the American Society for Testing and Materials ASTM D 1227, Type 3, Class 1, except for weight and ash requirements. Maximum VOC is 0 grams per liter.
