F550 SunShield
1.5 lb Nonfibered Aluminum
USES: F550 SunShield protects surfaces exposed to the sun's destructive ultraviolet (UV) rays. SunShield increases the service life of roofs, as well as reduces energy costs by lowering inside building temperatures. SunShield is compatible with SEBS, APP, and SBS rubber modified asphalts and will adhere to most surfaces including roofing, wood, metal, rubber, plastic, glass, and concrete. SunShield forms a metallic, reflective shield that protects and beautifies.
DIRECTIONS: New asphalt surfaces shall be allowed to set up a minimum of 90 days prior to applying F550 SunShield. SunShield is friendly to apply, especially in moderate temperatures. Clean gravel, dirt, vegetation, and debris from the application area. Seal any leaking penetrations and repair all surface fissures with M300 RubrMastic and PolyWeb. Prime the surface to be coated along with any uncoated masonry and new metal with M400 RubrPrime. Use a thick nap roller, medium stiff bristle brush, or low pressure spray equipment to apply SunShield directly from the container without diluting. Thoroughly stir SunShield just prior to application, working the aluminum pigment up from the bottom of the container. Apply SunShield at the rate of 1 gallon per 100 square feet.
DESCRIPTION: F550 SunShield is a 1.5 lb nonfibered aluminum coating made from 100% oxidized roofing asphalt. SunShield has been engineered to provide a Class A Fire Rating over most roofing including SEBS built-up roofs. Select raw materials have been formulated to make SunShield a premium aluminum coating. SunShield provides superior elastic performance against thermal shock, the daily expansion and contraction of a roof caused by temperature changes. In addition, the sun's UV rays attack the roof membrane making it brittle and weak, inducing membrane ruptures during thermal shock cycles. SunShield is your best defense against these attacks. With SunShield, your roofing installations will perform much longer. SunShield is asbestos free.
SPECIFICATIONS: F550 SunShield exceeds the minimum standards of the American Society for Testing and Materials ASTM D 2824 Type 1. Maximum VOC 500 grams per liter.
PACKAGING: F550 SunShield is available in 5 gallon pails, 55 gallon drums, and bulk.
