USES: A640 AtcoShield2 protects surfaces exposed to the sun's destructive UV rays. AtcoShield2 increases the service life of roofs, as well as reduces energy costs by lowering inside building temperatures. AtcoShield2 forms a metallic, reflective shield that protects and beautifies. AtcoShield2 is compatible with SEBS, APP, and SBS rubber modified asphalts and will adhere to most surfaces including roofing, wood, metal, glass, and concrete.
DIRECTIONS: Allow new asphalt surfaces a minimum of 90 days to set up prior to applying A640 AtcoShield2. AtcoShield2 is friendly to apply, especially in moderate temperatures. Apply with a thick nap roller, medium stiff bristle brush, or low pressure spray equipment. Clean gravel, dirt, vegetation, and debris from the application area. Make sure the application surface is smooth, firm, frost-free, and dry. Seal any leaking penetrations and repair surface fissures with M300 RubrMastic and PolyWeb. Prime the surface to be coated along with any uncoated masonry and new metal with M400 RubrPrime. Apply AtcoShield2 directly from the container without diluting. Thoroughly stir AtcoShield2 just prior to application, working the aluminum pigment up from the bottom of the container. Apply AtcoShield2 at the uniform rate of 1.5 gallons per 100 square feet.
DESCRIPTION: A640 AtcoShield2 is a quality fibered aluminum coating made from 100% oxidized roofing asphalt. AtcoShield2 has been engineered to provide a Class A Fire Rating over most roofs. Select raw materials have been formulated to make AtcoShield2 a premium product. AtcoShield2 has approximately 2.0 lbs of aluminum paste per gallon. AtcoShield2 provides superior elastic performance against thermal shock, the daily expansion and contraction of a roof caused by temperature changes. In addition, the sun's UV rays attack the roof membrane making it brittle and weak, inducing membrane ruptures during thermal shock cycles. AtcoShield2 is your best defense against these attacks. With AtcoShield2, your roofing installations will perform much longer. AtcoShield2 is asbestos free.
SPECIFICATIONS: A640 AtcoShield2 exceeds the minimum standards of the American Society for Testing and Materials ASTM D 2824 Type 3. Maximum VOC 500 grams per liter.
PACKAGING: A640 AtcoShield2 is available in 1 gallon cans, and 5 gallon pails.
