A470 RainStop
Nonfibered Asphalt Coating
USES: A470 RainStop is a superior roof primer as well as an excellent protective coating for foundations, gutters, concrete, metal, and wood. RainStop can also be used over corrugated metal, metal flashings, and other metals exposed to the weather so as to prevent rust and corrosion. RainStop is compatible with APP, SBS, and SEBS rubber modified asphalts. RainStop will adhere to most surfaces including roofing, wood, metal, rubber, plastic, glass, and concrete.
DIRECTIONS: A470 RainStop is friendly to apply, even in cool to hot temperatures. Warm RainStop to room temperature for easiest application. Clean away all dirt, vegetation, and debris from the application area. Severely rusted areas shall be cleaned of all loose rust. Use a medium stiff bristle brush or asphalt cutback spray equipment to apply RainStop directly from the container, without diluting. When applying RainStop over newly poured concrete, allow for complete drying so as to prevent water blisters. RainStop has a smooth paint-like consistency. Apply RainStop at the rate of .5 to 1 gallon per 100 square feet, depending upon the porosity of the surface. RainStop should set up in less than 24 hours per the quantity applied and the weather conditions.
DESCRIPTION: A470 RainStop is a leading edge nonfibered asphalt coating manufactured from 100% oxidized asphalt. When RainStop is applied, it forms a smooth black surface. RainStop has excellent penetrating qualities, which are critical for a primer. Select raw materials have been formulated to make RainStop a premium product. RainStop provides superior elastic performance against thermal shock, the daily expansion and contraction of a roof caused by temperature changes. In addition, the sun's UV rays attack the roof membrane making it brittle and weak, inducing membrane ruptures during thermal shock cycles. RainStop is your best defense against these attacks. With RainStop, your roofing and waterproofing installations will perform much longer.
SPECIFICATION: A470 RainStop exceeds the standards of the American Society for Testing and Materials ASTM D41. Maximum VOC is 475 grams per liter.
