Lap Adhesive & Coating
USES: A110 AtcoLap seals laps on roll roofing, adheres roofing and waterproofing sheets, and repairs surface breaks. AtcoLap can even be applied as a surface coating. AtcoLap is compatible with SEBS, APP, and SBS modified bitumen roofing products and will adhere to most surfaces including roofing, wood, metal, glass, and concrete.
DIRECTIONS: A100 AtcoLap is friendly to apply, especially in warm temperatures. Apply with a medium stiff bristle brush, a squeegee, or asphalt cutback spray equipment. Warm AtcoLap to room temperature for easiest application. Clean gravel, dirt, vegetation, and debris from the application area. Make sure the application surface is smooth, firm, frost-free, and dry. Apply AtcoLap directly from the container without diluting. Install Fields roofing and waterproofing sheets with AtcoLap. Uniformly apply 5 gallons per 100 square feet of AtcoLap as an adhesive under the first roll the full width of the sheet. Set the roll into the AtcoLap, making sure it unrolls straight and without any wrinkles. Carefully press the unrolled sheet into the AtcoLap by lightly brushing the surface until complete adhesion is achieved. Do not step on the sheets until the AtcoLap has set up. Continue installing each successive roll by overlapping the prior sheet 3". For each additional layer, repeat the above process using 4 gallons per 100 square feet of AtcoLap in a complete interply application. Center the rolls of each additional layer over the seams of the prior layer. Apply a final surface coating of AtcoLap at the rate of 5 gallons per 100 square feet. Make a 3 layer repair with AtcoLap and PolyWeb over fissures or to reinforce degraded areas. Refer to the PolyWeb label for installation directions. Generously apply a protective coating with AtcoLap at the uniform rate of 5 gallons per 100 square feet. First repair fissures, seal leaking penetrations, fix broken flashings, and reinforce degraded areas. For maximum protection and reduced energy costs, apply M800 RubrStar over the AtcoLap. Allow the AtcoLap a minimum of 90 days to set up before applying the RubrStar.
DESCRIPTION: A110 AtcoLap is a quality asphalt adhesive and coating manufactured from 100% oxidized roofing asphalt. Select raw materials have been formulated to make AtcoLap a premium product. AtcoLap provides superior elastic performance against thermal shock, the daily expansion and contraction of a roof caused by temperature changes. In addition, the sun's UV rays attack the roof membrane making it brittle and weak, inducing membrane ruptures during thermal shock cycles. AtcoLap is your best defense against these attacks. With AtcoLap your roofing and waterproofing installations will perform much longer. AtcoLap is asbestos free.
SPECIFICATIONS: A110 AtcoLap exceeds the standards of the American Society for Testing and Materials ASTM D 3019, Type 3. Maximum VOC is 300 grams per liter.
